Drew Blanton   ASSOCIATE

DREW BLANTON received his Juris Doctor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 2002, with a concentration in Labor and Employment Law. He won the American Bar Association and Bureau of National Affairs Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor and Employment Law. He received his B.A. (cum laude) from the University of Delaware in 1998, with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in Philosophy. Mr. Blanton is admitted to practice law in the State Courts of New York . Following graduation from law school, he served for more than a decade as Staff Attorney, and later General Counsel, with Service Employees International Union, Local 200 United. His responsibilities included overseeing all legal aspects of the union. He negotiated dozens of collective bargaining agreements and represented the union in hundreds of arbitration/administrative hearings. Drew successfully argued cases before the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, and Court of Appeals. He represented private, public, and federal sector employees; including many school district employees. Since joining the firm in 2015, Drew has represented our clients on a variety of labor and employment matters. He is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association Education Law Committee. Drew was a co-presenter on the topic of "Pre-Employment Inquires and Employment Investigations" at the Nassau and Suffolk Academies of Law 2016 Annual School Law Conference.
